Paris 17ème Batignolles and Villiers food tour

  • Between tradition and modernity : the 17th district possesses both the greatest number of Haussmann style buildings and a brand new eco-district
  • A good place to live : famous for its friendliness, its little squares, old-world charm shops, markets and parks, it brings back together art of living and urban life
  • Rue de Levis, one of the oldest streets of the neighbourhood : car-free street dedicated to food stores and high quality specialized stores
  • A railway related past : manufacture where locomotives were made, train station for merchandise and travellers, railway laborers gave a popular soul to the Batignolles area

All the Parisians have heard of that name Batignolles but only a few really know this charming « village » away from the touristy heart of the capital city. The inhabitants love it ! And they are not the only ones. In the 19th century, avant-garde artists lived and worked there gathering around the painter Edouard Manet to form the Batignolles Group. One of them, Frederique Bazille wrote to his mother : it is « a quiet neighbourhood where you spend less money than to live inside Paris. »

Pace up and down the streets of Batignolles with your tour guide for a five-senses delight. The area is full of gourmet addresses where you can discover all the trendy things, from desserts to the infinite possibilities you have to prepare a nice apéritif with friends. Crunchy, melty, crispy, spongy, tasty, exquisite… you won’t have enough adjectives to describe your palate’s sensations during this guided tour experience.
